Who - Originally developed in the mid-1990s with input from Dino Andino, this modernized version was driven by his son, Kolohe Andino, alongside West Coast sales rep Nate Yeomans. Kolohe challenged Matt Biolos to create a board with the wild speed of the Rad Zapper but with a more traditional shortboard feel. The result is a design directed by "dos Andinos" built not just for pros, but as a board that any everyday surfer can jump on to instantly generate speed..
When - You should surf this board in sloppy, lackluster, or small summer surf. It is built explicitly for generating bursts of sustained, blistering speed in sub-par conditions where standard shortboards might bog down. Built on the philosophy of "if I can get speed, I can turn," it is the perfect choice for days when the waves lack push and you just need something to stand on and go fast./span>
What - A "pedal-to-the-metal," laterally lacerating, speed-centric shortboard. Sitting somewhere between the Rad Ripper and Sub-Driver models, it utilizes a radically deep double concave that hooks into the rails, a flat deck, a flat tail rocker, and a wider-than-wide tail block. However, it sheds retro elements like "beak" noses and double-bump tails for a more "normal" look and feel. It is tied together with a vintage 1990–1992 bold Mayhem logo and a grungy '90s torn-tape aesthetic.
